Eudora eMail message to iCal Todo item AppleScript
The other day I was contemplating how neat it would be to create a Todo item in iCal from a selected eMail message in Eudora. So I wrote this script which takes the Subject line as the Todo item title, the message Body for the Notes section, and the eMail address for the URL section. When you click on the URL, it will open a Reply message in Eudora and inserts the eMail address and Re:Subject line of the message it is refering to. Pretty cool!
For this script I adapted Craig Drown's eudora to addressbook script and used the ideas from the AppleScript Guidebook: Essential Sub-Routines from www.apple.com.

Nepal related tools
Nepal is in many ways different from the rest of the world. The script of the Nepali language is 'Devanagari' [see proverb above for example], and the calendar system followed is that of 'Bikram Sambad' [B.S.]. The year A.D. 2005 for example represents the years B.S. 2061/62, as the New Year day usually falls on April 14.
The use of the Nepali script in computers is quite messy up to now. There has been no common standart until the advent of Unicode. But even with Unicode things are not optimal, as there are only few software application which can handle Unicode, or display the combined glyphs correctly. Unicode also requires modern operating systems, like Windows XP. In Nepal many people still use Windows 95/98. In December 2005 Microsoft launched Windows XP in Nepali.
The Mac has had language packs from quite early on [since MacOS 8], and the roman input system is just fantastic. But again, good Unicode applications are rare.
Linux is supporting Unicode, and there are interesting projects, like the NepaLinux which is a Debian based linux distribution with the Gnome Desktop in Nepali language, with translated applications like OpenOffice, and a Nepali script input system. They are also working on a Nepali spellchecker and thesaurus.

Dictionary Nepali-Deutsch-Nepali 1.0
This came out of my vocab list while learning the Nepali language. You can download the dictionary file in either of the two formats. The first one can be used in ClarisWorks up to AppleWorks on the Mac. The ASCII file can be use in a spreadsheet application or you may import it into a database programme. The second file contains only a tab-delimited list of Nepali and German words. I can not guarenty correctness of spelling.

Nepali Calendar 2067 B.S.
It is very confusing to work with two calendar system at the same time, not only to me, but also to my Nepali friends. In order to overcome this obstacle I produced a new calendar file for the Nepali Dates of the year 2067 B.S. [14 April 2010 - 13 April 2011] for your Palm Handheld, Apple's iCal, KOrganizer [Linux], Evolution [Linux] or any other programmes able to read .ics files. I am using it on my Handspring Visor Edge PDA - it's very cool!
